I’m Ready!!!

I am officially ready for this child to get here. (Nevermind the fact that I have 14 weeks left!) The pregnancy has flown by so far, but the end of it can’t get here soon enough. My friend, Sandi, just had her baby, and the time I’ve spent holding Abbi has gotten all my maternal instincts revving into high gear. I have been going through our old pics and found this one of Charlotte at 4 weeks old:

Look at that little mouth and tiny fingers! I can’t wait for that again. The sweet-smelling baby breath, the tiny, furnace-like body, and even that delirious, sleep-deprived look in my eye.

I just can’t wait.

P.S. Yes, this clearly is the result of some influx of happy mommy hormones, but I don’t care to remember the “other stuff” just yet. I’m going to keep looking at this picture to get me through 😉

Zoo Trip

We’ve been a little slack lately, so please bear with the retroactive posts. I’m a little slow moving for the time being 🙂

A couple of weekends ago we enjoyed a little good weather at the zoo. We fought some unbelievable school field trip crowds and still managed to see all the animals.

The girls were far more interested in the Jell-O and the train ride.

It was a great day. Can’t wait to go back!

First off the new camera.

So tonight we decided to have a picnic in the backyard. It was fun…. and I got to try out the new camera. Here are a few of the pics.

See the whole album of original photos….here.

Today I was ambitious…

and decided to REORGANIZE our playroom. Really it was more like a closet. Most nights I walk around the house and put things in the “belongings box” then DUMP it in that room or just open the door long enough to throw our junk in… and then quickly shut it. I should have taken before pictures but I’m was too ashamed. 🙂 Anyway, take a look.

This morning there were two dressers and a bunch of junk right there. Now… dunt da duuuhh! An Art Station.

Olivia and I put a skirt around the stage and hung all the instruments. This was previously a place for junk toys to die. (If you didn’t know… yes, we have a stage in our playroom)

They had to try it out.

I know this isn’t that impressive, but considering where we started it’s a miracle.

Finally after one abandoned mission, our girls are sharing a room. Olivia is sleeping on the top bunk and Charlotte on the bottom—and they stay in their beds!! The first couple of nights (and mornings) were rough. They stayed up late giggling at Charlotte’s knock – knock jokes and then Charlotte was up waaaaay before sunrise (4:45 am) ’cause it was way too exciting being in La La’s room. But last night, they were both asleep by 7:30 and didn’t wake up until 6:50 (that’s sleeping  late in Charlotte’s little world).

Now we just have to get the guest room/nursery back in order in time for # 3 to get here. Anyone have a trundle bed they want to get rid of?

17 Week Ultrasound

This morning I got to see #3 again. I had to explain to the ultrasound tech that I Did Not want to know what gender this child was. Nevertheless, as she was trying to get a clear screen shot, she said “Wow, HE’S an active one”, and then, “I just need HIM to flip over so I can see HIS spine.” What!?!?! I know that the masculine pronoun is often used as the gender neutral, but What The Heck?!!?? Is it a boy? Was she just toying with my emotions? This slip-up may cause us to reconsider how much information we request at our 20-Week ultrasound.

Anywho, here’s the pic:

Oh yeah, and they said that my placenta is completely covering my cervix, a condition called placenta previa. There is still a high chance that it will move, but if it doesn’t move completely away, I could wind up on bedrest, and most certainly have a C-section delivery. I don’t want that. We could use some prayer in that department.

But, more importantly, what do you think? Boy or Girl? Find out or not find out?

16 Week Bump

We’ve been posting a lot of pictures of our crazy kids and showing off their little personalities lately. They get a little sweeter and little kookier every day. Number 3 isn’t much different. Everyday, this little one makes his/her presence known a little bit too. I have been feeling baby movement for several weeks, but now they are bonafied kicks. We are 24 weeks (or less, hopefully) away from another little personality in our family. We’ve been very blessed by quick conceptions (ha!), easy pregnancies and healthy babies. So blessed, that we’re already knocking around the idea of a fourth. Why not, right?

Here’s our 16 week baby bump:

Cute, huh?

Sundays With Dad

The Sundays when Katie works the morning shift are always interesting. We always find something to pass the time. We usually watch a lot of cartoons and then goof off the rest of the morning.

We’ve starting taking the girls swimming at an indoor pool.  As you can see, Olivia likes her pink goggles.

Happy Day

The 2nd birthday was a success! Here are a few pictures:

Olivia was a little annoyed by the whole thing. . .

until the presents came.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Parental Resolution

People told us that the second child will be less photographed than the first. We didn’t believe them.

Olivia has a photo album online and a real photo album that amounts to nothing less than stop-motion animation.

Charlotte has about 12 pictures of “just her” online and no real photo album (yet!)

Third children, apparently, are lucky to have anything concrete to prove that they even had a childhood.

Hopefully, we’ll break the cycle.

Here’s 12 week picture of our #3. (so what if it’s two weeks late)
