Waiting. . . .

We are pretty consumed by our circumstances right now, so we haven’t thought much of blogging.

We are planning on moving to Raleigh as soon as this house sells (or burns down, whatever).

Josh is still working at the church (until the 15th) by day and burning the midnight oil with all of his contract work.

I’m staying one step behind the kids to keep the house “ready to show” and researching the schools in Wake County to see where we want to live. (which changes everyday as do the school districts, apparently)

In the meantime, here’s what we’ve been up to:

Fun in the snow at Mimi’s house.

Charlotte turned. . .

Got some presents.

Olivia was slightly less than amused.

Banana Splits for the Birthday breakfast.

Yum!

Had a party with our friends.

Creighton reached cake Nirvana.

And then, Olivia’s school had a Family Dance.

We were instructed not to dance.

(I tried anyway)

Group hug with the besties.

Horsing around with Dad.

and an inflatable sea serpent.

Successful first quarter at Peters Inc.

I’ll post all of the Easter pics soon. Off to enjoy all the yellow-coated goodness outside in the sun.

Big Boy

Creighton is getting so big. He is walking everywhere, and the “snakes and snails and puppy dog tails” in him are spilling out all over the place.

Just look at him:

He’s gonna be a Lady Killer.

A New Phase

There have been a lot of changes aound the Peters’ house this past month.

While July 30 was Creighton’s first birthday, it was also my last day at work. So while we were celebrating and watching him do this:

We were also wondering what life would look like when we got home.

And for the most part, last week, life looked like this:

All my little duckies in a row (well at least for that millisecond in time) We had a pretty good week and we’re going to get even better because I bought this:

So far, it’s not working, but I bet I have to read it for that to happen.

On top of that, I did this:

My first 5K, and to my knowledge, no one needs iceskates in “you-know-where.”

And then, the biggest “and then”, is that Olivia starts Kindergarten in the morning. We met her teacher on Friday. I love her already, she’s all cuddles and sweetness.

Life looks different, that is for sure, but it’s going to be great.

But first, I think we’re going to have to get this other darn tooth out.

It’s about to get interesting, folks.

And now, I might just have time to update this old blog.

Happy Birthday, Man Cub.

It’s been a year.

It’s been the best one so far.

The world is better place with you in it, Creighton.

We love you!

A little CR8N

We realized this morning that Creighton has not had enough photo time recently.  So, here’s a little Creighton photo shoot.  Man… I love that guy.

Happy Half-Birthday, Baby Boy!

Creighton is 6 months old today!

Time is a flyin’

No Time.

Welp, it’s true.

The third child gets no pictures.

Here’s one of the four pictures that we’ve taken of him in the past several weeks. Who’s got time for pictures ??!???!

That is his “My-Mom-Is-Nuts” face. But he loves me the best anyway ; )

If you run into him somewhere, take his picture. He’s gonna need all the help he can get in this department.

Okay Chris…

I’ve been busy geez… here’s your post.  So last week I was in a wedding in North Carolina. It just so happened that they had a full band at the reception… and it just so happened that all of the members of my old band were in attendance (and our manager who negotiated the terms of our impromptu performance).

Side note: our drummer was getting married AND it had been three years since we played together.

Here is quick highlight of us doing one of our original songs… it was fun. Just like old times, except without all of the practicing, sound checking and late nights.

In case you were wondering. That is apple juice that Chance, our singer, is drinking. ;)

Good News!

Yesterday I went to my 20-week appointment for the “big” ultrasound. My iPhoto program isn’t working right now, or I’d post a picture, but the good news is that the placenta has moved and I am no longer considered at-risk for placenta previa. Woo-hoo.

We took Olivia with us because we thought that she would enjoy being a big girl and getting to see the baby kick around. Well, not so much. The blue gel they put on you when you get an ultrasound was waaaaay more interesting. I’m not sure that she even looked at the screen. Oh well. At least we tried to to make a moment of it.

And, NO, we did not find out what we are having. It’s not even on our chart and the Doc said that she didn’t even know what the tech saw. There’s no turning back now.

I’ll get a picture up soon.

Thanks for the prayers.

Thirty-Two dollars

My boss and his wife are in Uganda right now. They are blogging along with a group of 14 others about what Compassion International is doing for children right now. Read their stories here.

I’ve seen the commercials and even seen cute little photographs of sponsor children of friends’ refrigerators, but cynical me has always thought that someone set-up a picture of a dirty kid somewhere and that they were using compelling photography to try and raise money. I also assumed that the majority of that money was not going to the kids.

I was wrong.

Here are some pictures of Ugandan children that are currently being sponsored by a family:

These are children from the same area that are not sponsored, yet:

If I could get there right now, I would put that last little one in my suitcase and bring her home with me.

It’s amazing what $32 a month does in some parts of the world. All of these children were photographed yesterday in the same part of Uganda.

You can help by clicking right here.

We just sponsored one child for each of the girls. We hope that some of you will do the same.

Tagged

I got tagged again, this time by Clarissa and Erin. So here are 7 random things about me.

1. I have really long toes. My second toe is the same length as my pinkie finger, and I used to be able to write my name with my right foot. (No, I haven’t tried in a while.)

2. I love old musicals. Rodgers and Hammerstein, Disney, anything really. One of my favorites is “The Happiest Millionaire”, anyone, anyone?

3. I don’t eat blue food. Blue is a weird color to eat. It’s just not natural. (And don’t even say blueberries, they aren’t really blue, they’re purple when you smash them. It’s the white film on them that makes them look blue.)

4. Wind chimes freak me out. They are as ominous as the Halloween theme song to me.

5. We aren’t going to find out whether this child is a girl or a boy until the day it’s born. We didn’t find out the other two either. It’s worth the wait–I dare any prego to try it.

6. I can hardly wait to get a minivan. I never thought I would say that.

7. My husband just cooked scrambled eggs, bacon and buttermilk biscuits. My whole family is sitting in the living room in front of the fire eating together. Life is good.

Jenna, I tag you again :)

Pictures

There are new pictures of the girls in the photo album. Enjoy!
