17 Week Ultrasound

This morning I got to see #3 again. I had to explain to the ultrasound tech that I Did Not want to know what gender this child was. Nevertheless, as she was trying to get a clear screen shot, she said “Wow, HE’S an active one”, and then, “I just need HIM to flip over so I can see HIS spine.” What!?!?! I know that the masculine pronoun is often used as the gender neutral, but What The Heck?!!?? Is it a boy? Was she just toying with my emotions? This slip-up may cause us to reconsider how much information we request at our 20-Week ultrasound.

Anywho, here’s the pic:

Oh yeah, and they said that my placenta is completely covering my cervix, a condition called placenta previa. There is still a high chance that it will move, but if it doesn’t move completely away, I could wind up on bedrest, and most certainly have a C-section delivery. I don’t want that. We could use some prayer in that department.

But, more importantly, what do you think? Boy or Girl? Find out or not find out?

Classic Olivia

Here are just a few of my favorite Olivia pictures from the past 4 years.  Soon we’ll be doing this all over again.  It’s hard to believe.

That’s just sweetness.

16 Week Bump

We’ve been posting a lot of pictures of our crazy kids and showing off their little personalities lately. They get a little sweeter and little kookier every day. Number 3 isn’t much different. Everyday, this little one makes his/her presence known a little bit too. I have been feeling baby movement for several weeks, but now they are bonafied kicks. We are 24 weeks (or less, hopefully) away from another little personality in our family. We’ve been very blessed by quick conceptions (ha!), easy pregnancies and healthy babies. So blessed, that we’re already knocking around the idea of a fourth. Why not, right?

Here’s our 16 week baby bump:

Cute, huh?

Sundays With Dad

The Sundays when Katie works the morning shift are always interesting. We always find something to pass the time. We usually watch a lot of cartoons and then goof off the rest of the morning.

We’ve starting taking the girls swimming at an indoor pool.  As you can see, Olivia likes her pink goggles.

Twinkies

My girls have such unique personalities, that I really don’t think that they look much alike. People usually say that Olivia looks like me and that Charlotte looks like Josh. Here are pictures of each of them on their second birthday wearing “the birthday hat”

I think that they just look like each other. Sometimes their personalities aren’t so unique either.

Olivia looks so stoked in that last one. Being a big sis is tough.

Happy Day

The 2nd birthday was a success! Here are a few pictures:

Olivia was a little annoyed by the whole thing. . .

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

My Baby is Two!

Look at that face.

We’ll post some birthday pictures later tonight, but for now, just look at that face.

My pregnant wife…

woke up yesterday and said…”I’m going to cook breakfast.” I had no idea what was coming. Pregnancy is my friend. :)

What’s your favorite breakfast?

Thirty-Two dollars

My boss and his wife are in Uganda right now. They are blogging along with a group of 14 others about what Compassion International is doing for children right now. Read their stories here.

I’ve seen the commercials and even seen cute little photographs of sponsor children of friends’ refrigerators, but cynical me has always thought that someone set-up a picture of a dirty kid somewhere and that they were using compelling photography to try and raise money. I also assumed that the majority of that money was not going to the kids.

I was wrong.

Here are some pictures of Ugandan children that are currently being sponsored by a family:

These are children from the same area that are not sponsored, yet:

If I could get there right now, I would put that last little one in my suitcase and bring her home with me.

It’s amazing what $32 a month does in some parts of the world. All of these children were photographed yesterday in the same part of Uganda.

You can help by clicking right here.

We just sponsored one child for each of the girls. We hope that some of you will do the same.

Parental Resolution

People told us that the second child will be less photographed than the first. We didn’t believe them.

Olivia has a photo album online and a real photo album that amounts to nothing less than stop-motion animation.

Charlotte has about 12 pictures of “just her” online and no real photo album (yet!)

Third children, apparently, are lucky to have anything concrete to prove that they even had a childhood.

Hopefully, we’ll break the cycle.

Here’s 12 week picture of our #3. (so what if it’s two weeks late)

Riders on the Storm

There are tornadoes heading toward us today and so we are “riding out the storm” in our own little makeshift shelter. It’s only 9:15 am. It’s gonna be a long day.

Yes, Olivia is wearing a tiara. A girl has got to be prepared.

And for all of you asking to see pregnant belly pics, I’ll get to it. The stars have to align before I pull my shirt up in front of a camera or at least a few shots of tequila (I’m kidding, Dad)

Happy Wednesday!
